Research stream

Students presenting in any of the research streams at this conference can apply.

Eligibility

Graduate and post-graduate students can apply, but members of the research community who are involved with the Canadian Association for Studies in Co-operation can also apply.

Amount

This fund supports travel, lodging and registration costs, up to 1,000 CAD per year per researcher, to support participation as a speaker at an academic conference related to the co-operatives and mutuals sector. The award will be processed as a reimbursement of documented expenses and the amount is NOT transferable or to be given to any other person than the chosen recipient.

Selection criteria

Applications are accepted year-round, but we recommend that you apply at least 60 days prior to the date of an event you wish to attend. Applications will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • The fund is primarily intended to support graduate and post-graduate students, but members of the research community who are involved with the Canadian Association for Studies in Co-operation can be considered.

  • The relevance of their research to cooperation and cooperatives

How to submit a request

Students fill out this form and explain their volunteer, employment, and educational experience related to the co-operative and mutual movement.

Applicants will also explain, in less than 500 words, their interest in cooperatives/cooperation and why they would be a good candidate to receive the Ian MacPherson Legacy Fund.
