About the ICA CCR YES Workshop

The ICA CCR Young & Emerging Scholars (YES) Workshop is a one-day event that aims at enhancing career development and networking opportunities for early researchers in cooperative studies.

The YES Workshop will take place on the day before the main conference to allow everyone who is interested to participate. Designed for Masters, PhD, post-doctoral students and early researchers in institutions, it is a great opportunity to meet peers and gain new skills and insightful knowledge in the field.

Agenda for the day

The YES workshop will take place on July 7, 2025. The workshop's central theme is decolonizing cooperatives, addressing historical inequalities, and empowering marginalized communities. Special guests, such as Prof. Marcelo Vieta and scholars engaged in the DisCO.coop, will offer valuable perspectives and insights on this topic, enriching the discussion and inspiring future research endeavors. The YES Workshop will take place at HEC Montréal's brand new contemporary Hélène Desmarais Building.

ICA CCR 2025 Best Student Paper Award

  • Deadline for submission due: June 5, 2025 (23h59, Montreal time)

  • The ICA CCR steering committee is keen to recognize the best graduate paper with a Best Young Scholar Paper award.

  • Submit a full paper in English, French or Spanish.

  • Papers should be between 5,000 and 8,000 words in length, including tables, figures, and references.

  • Make sure to include an 800-word abstract and four to six keywords

  • Format should be in Microsoft Word or PDF

  • Please email your paper and abstract at info@icaccr2025.org, with the following subject title: ICA CCR 2025 Best student paper award.

UNTFSSE Anna Maria O'Neil Award for the best paper on SSE (Student)

The UNTFSSE (UN Inter-Agency Task Force on Social and Solidarity Economy) award is sponsored by UNRISD, ILO, UNCTAD, Edgard Milhaud Foundation, CIRIEC, TDR, SIHI, and EMES. Papers on social and solidarity economy in general are welcome. The award is $200.

To submit your paper for the awards:

  • Submit a full paper in English, French or Spanish.

  • Please email your paper to info@icaccr2025.org. Only full papers submitted by this date will be considered for the UNTFSSE Award.

  • Papers should be between 5,000 and 8,000 words in length, including tables, figures, and references.

  • Make sure to include an abstract and four to six keywords.

  • Format should be in Microsoft Word or PDF.

  • The awards will be handed out at the conference, The awarded papers will be included in the UNTFSSE Knowledge Hub on SDGs with a worldwide reach and large visibility.
